Flood relief work continues in China
Beijing (IANS). Recently, heavy rains occurred in the northern and northeastern regions of China, causing flash floods and landslides. Various departments made efforts in the face of the disaster, so that the safety of life and property of the people and social stability could be ensured.
In Laishvi County, Baoding City, Hebei Province, 26,000 people and passengers were moved to safer places. Connectivity was restored with 16 villages.
Local transportation departments quickly cleared the way for heavy vehicles and supply vehicles.
Drainage, dredging and disinfection work is underway after flooding in Chaochou City, Hebei Province. Now the power system has been restored in 93 flood affected residential areas.
Repairs to damaged infrastructure continue in Beijing. More than 50 bus lines affected by rain have resumed operations. Power was restored to 270 villages in the Fangshan, Manthokou and Changfing regions.
The rehabilitation work of the disaster affected people has been completed. At the same time, floods also occurred in Heilongchiang province of Northeast China. There, more than 30,000 people from 191 relief teams participated in disaster prevention.
49 thousand people were transferred to the city of Wuchang. Services like material guarantee, health management and psychological counseling are available in the rehabilitation sector. More than 1,30,000 people were affected by the floods in Shulan city of Chilin province.
Communication has now been restored with all counties and people have been relocated. The Chinese Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Emergency Management released a grant amount of 350 million yuan to support disaster relief.
