Flood wreaks havoc in Afghanistan, 6 people killed and 8 injured
Kabul (IANS) | At least six people have died and eight others have been injured in recent torrential rains and floods in Afghanistan. Local media gave this information on Thursday. Thirty houses were damaged, seven bridges were broken, 832 animals were killed and farmers’ crops were severely damaged, Xinhua news agency quoted local media as saying. The provinces affected by heavy rains and floods include Kunar, Nuristan, Badakhshan, Paktia, Takhar, Ghor and Parwan.
According to the Meteorological Department, earlier, some provinces of the country, such as Badakhshan, Takhar, Baghlan, Nuristan, Kunar, Laghman, Parwan and Kapisa received 10 to 25 mm of rain. Significantly, in May 2022, floods affected many parts of Afghanistan. During that time 429 people were killed.
