Forest officer arrested in fake divorce document case

Dehradun: The police have arrested Rajiv Nayan Nautiyal, the Sub-Divisional Forest Officer (SDO) of the Chakrata Forest Division, on charges of marrying by presenting forged divorce documents and allegedly physically abusing a woman. The police produced the accused in court on Thursday, after which he was sent to jail in judicial custody. The investigation into the matter is ongoing, and the police are examining all aspects related to the allegations.
According to the police, a woman had lodged a complaint against the accused officer. The complaint alleged that Rajiv Nayan Nautiyal claimed to be divorced before the marriage and allegedly submitted forged documents to substantiate this claim. The woman alleges that she married the accused believing these documents to be genuine, only to discover later that there were alleged discrepancies in them.
The complainant told the police that the accused concealed crucial facts during the course of their marital relationship. She alleges that the reality regarding the divorce documents was different and that the accused entered into the marriage by providing false information. Subsequently, the woman leveled allegations of fraud and physical abuse against him.
