Fraud of Rs 18 lakh in the name of Villa, case against three including cricketer Sreesanth
Kannur: A case has been registered against several people including cricketer Sreesanth for extorting Rs 18 lakh by promising to get a villa in Udupi, Karnataka. On the complaint of Balagopal, a native of Kannapuram, the city police registered the case as per the court’s direction.
The complaint states that Rajeev Kumar and Venkatesh Kini, whom he met in Kollur in 2019, accepted the money. The money was accepted by saying that they would be given five cents by building a villa on the land. When the villa was not given, it was replied that a cricket project was being started for Sreesanth at that place. The complaint states that Sreesanth later met the complainant and promised him a villa as part of his project. The complainant said that as no action was taken, he filed a petition before the Kannur First Class Magistrate.
