Fraud of Rs 35 lakh 35 thousand 500, the act of the bank manager shocked
Sonipat: In Sonipat, Haryana, the manager and clerk of ‘Bandhan Bank’ together embezzled Rs 35 lakh 35 thousand 500 from the loan. It is alleged that manager Ashok Kumar and cashier Devendra withdrew the loan amount from the applicants by taking their thumbs. The installments of some applicants were also deposited. As soon as the fraud was detected, senior officer Ajay Singh complained to the police against the bank manager and clerk.
Senior official Ajay Singh said that his bank works to provide loans to people for their needs and to start business. His bank has a branch in Ganaur. In that branch, Ashok Kumar works as a manager and Devendra Kumar works as a clerk. About 58 people had applied for loan in his branch for their needs and for doing business.
It is alleged that the manager got the accounts opened in his bank before the applicants. Then took their documents and applied for the loan. Applicants say that even after two months they did not get the loan. He kept visiting the bank again and again. But the bank manager Ashok Kumar used to return the money saying that the money has not yet arrived in the bank.
At the same time, applicant Sompal told that he has three accounts in Gannaur branch. He had applied for loan in all three accounts. Later he came to know that his loan had been applied, but the money had not come into his account and his loan installment was also being deposited. When the applicants came to know about the fraud done to them, they complained to the higher official of the bank, Ajay Kumar. When I investigated the Ajay Kumar case at my level, it was found that about Rs 35 lakh 35 thousand 500 had been embezzled from the bank.
Gannaur police station in-charge Ravi Kumar said that on the complaint of Ajay Kumar, the police has started investigation by registering an FIR against Ashok Kumar and Devendra. He has asked for records in the matter from bank officials and has formed a team and started investigation. The accused will be arrested soon.
