Arunachal Pradesh: Assam Rifles apprehends active NSCN-IM cadre in Tirap.

Dibrugarh: Security forces have apprehended an active cadre of the NSCN-IM faction during a search operation in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tirap district.
Acting on specific and credible intelligence inputs, the Khonsa Battalion of Assam Rifles launched a joint search operation with Tirap Police and apprehended the cadre.
The cadre has been identified as SS Capt Chopsai Pansa (56), a resident of Chop village, Wakka Circle, Longding district.
“During the operation, Assam Rifles apprehended an armed cadre of the NSCN-IM faction on December 15. The cadre was actively involved in illegal extortion activities and electoral interference in Tirap district,” said an official.
The cadre was taken into custody in a controlled and professional manner, following all standard operating procedures.
After preliminary questioning, the apprehended cadre was handed over to Tirap Police for further investigation and necessary legal action.
The operation reflects the continued commitment of Assam Rifles to maintaining peace, security, and stability in Tirap district and the surrounding areas.
