Funeral Proceedings Begin For Slain Supreme Leader Of Iran

The body of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was assassinated in Israeli and US attacks, will be kept for public viewing in the Iranian capital Tehran from tonight (Wednesday). Khamenei’s body is being taken out to mark the start of the funeral process.
Iranian state TV said Khamenei’s body would lie in state for three days. It said his body would lie in state in a large courtyard in central Tehran, where Khamenei often addressed the public and held prayers. Iran will hold Khamenei’s funeral after three days of public viewing. Meanwhile, Iran has stepped up its retaliatory attacks on Israel and US military bases in neighboring countries.
