New Delhi: Finally that day has come. India is chairing the G20 summit. Today i.e. on Saturday, on the first day of the summit, leading leaders of 20 major economies of the world sat together and brainstormed on global issues. Preparations for the program have been completed at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi. This summit will run for two days. The agenda included discussions on climate change, debt, food security, sustainability and geopolitical tensions. At the same time, India has kept the theme of this year’s summit ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’. All eyes are on the joint declaration of the leaders.

Regarding the G20 manifesto, Sherpa Amitabh Kant said that all the announcements will be effective on a very large scale. We have signed a green growth agreement on financing. Along with this, the aim is also to focus on sustainable development goals. The focus on women-led development is one of the major achievements. Apart from this, the focus of G20 leaders is also on AI and cyber security.
Regarding the Ukraine conflict, it was said in the G-20 declaration that we reiterated our national positions and resolutions adopted in the UNSC and UNGA. We have an opportunity to build a better future, no country should have to choose between poverty or fighting another country. We are committed to reducing the gender gap and promoting effective women fully and equally. They are also committed to participating in the economy as decision-makers.
In the press conference regarding G20, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said, India’s G20 presidency has prepared solutions that match with each member. And lay out a shared path for all. He said that there was an agreement in the G20 for bigger, better and more effective multilateral development banks. On the G20 finance track, he said that global efforts for clear policies on crypto assets have accelerated and a global consensus is emerging.
S Jaishankar said that, it was also decided to ‘focus on food security, nutrition and the transformative role of technology. A future alliance has also been mentioned in detail. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said the G20 declaration highlights the inclusive role of technology with a focus on transformation, digital public infrastructure. G-20 has contributed in preparing India for the world and preparing the world for India.
Regarding G-20, S Jaishankar said, ‘125 countries were consulted to express the voice of the Global South. The G20 is an extraordinary opportunity to showcase social partnership and our culture. It prepared India for the world. The declaration focuses on a strong sustainable balance, envisaging a green growth agreement.
On the acceptance of the G20 Leaders’ Manifesto, Sherpa Amitabh Kant called it a call for peace and prosperity. He said on

I would like to announce that a consensus has been reached on the announcement of the New Delhi G20 Leaders’ Summit. I declare that this declaration has been accepted. I announce its adoption. On this occasion, I congratulate our Sherpas, ministers, who worked hard for this and made it possible.

PM Modi thanked the G20 Sherpas, ministers and all officials for working hard to make the joint declaration possible. He expressed his gratitude before the beginning of the second session of G-20.
