G20 Summit: IAS officer is being praised, know who he is?

New Delhi: Building consensus on the G-20 manifesto was not an easy task. Many countries have failed in this. However, India did it. India’s G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant says nearly 200 hours of non-stop talks were required to bring G20 leaders on one platform over the ongoing war in Ukraine. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has also praised this achievement of India. He has called it a proud moment.
For this, India went through a long period of negotiations with China, Russia and other major western countries. India received strong support from Brazil, South Africa and Indonesia on this issue. This helped in achieving consensus. According to reports, India distributed the final draft to G20 members on Friday night, saying no announcement would be made if they did not agree to it.
Amitabh Kant said that this announcement was the result of several rounds of talks and the consensus on it was reached late on Friday night itself. For this, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has praised Amitabh Kant. He said, “Very good Amitabh Kant! It seems that the IFS lost a distinguished diplomat when you selected the IAS!” Tharoor also described it as a proud moment for India in the G20.
Sources have said that India successfully managed to convince China to agree to this issue related to Ukraine conflict after the EU agreed to this issue. On the first day of the summit on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced that the G20 leaders’ declaration had been adopted unanimously.
Many important international issues were agreed upon in the first meeting of the leaders of G-20 countries on Saturday. These include issues ranging from achieving the world’s Sustainable Development Goals, tackling climate change and the use of artificial intelligence in education to strongly combating terrorism. In the Delhi manifesto issued after the meeting, commitment has also been expressed towards tackling corruption, women empowerment, economic strength in the world and free trade.
The Delhi Declaration of the G-20 countries, without naming any country, says that terrorism is one of the most serious threats to international peace and security. All such activities are criminal and unfair and have to be dealt with strictly. It has also been agreed to attack those who give shelter to terrorists. Also said that efforts for international cooperation will be strengthened to deprive terrorist groups of financial help, recruitment of terrorists and material or political support.
