Gained 3-4 kgs for ‘Gadar 2’, didn’t shave for two years: Rohit Chowdhary
Mumbai (IANS). Seeing the success of ‘Gadar’, the craze for Sunny Deol’s upcoming film ‘Gadar 2’ is increasing. Actor Rohit Chowdhary is extremely excited for the film. He is playing the role of a dreaded villain in this film.
Gadar 2, directed by Anil Sharma and starring Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, will hit the big screens on August 11, 2023. Rohit will be playing the character of Major Malik, a notorious and ruthless officer of the Pakistan Army.
Rohit Chowdhary said, “Sharing the screen with veteran actor Sunny Deol is something that is unforgettable. Then you also have the rising star Utkarsh Shamra. I have seen a lot of spark in him and he has a long way to go. Utkarsh’s performance Has been exceptional, and I see him as a rising superstar in the industry.”
“Also, his role in the project is commendable.”
Talking about the special memories associated with ‘Gadar 2’, he said, ‘Among the countless memories, one moment stands out. There was a time when I had only 1-2 scenes, but director Anil Sharma, seeing my work, praised me a lot and increased my scenes in the project. It was truly a heart-warming experience which I will cherish forever.
After the stupendous success of Gadar, expectations are high from the second part.
Rohit said, “The film is a masterpiece in my view, it is full of action and heartfelt emotions. What makes it even more incredible is that the story goes beyond the year 1954, offering a captivating narrative that connects the history of Pakistan and India.
“Anil ji’s directorial genius truly shines through in this remarkable piece of cinema. Like ‘Gadar 1’, ‘Gadar 2’ is packed with action and dialogues that leave a powerful impact. In the recently released trailer, Some of the dialogues spoken by Sunny have been showcased.It is clear that the audience will be thrilled to see these impactful dialogues on the big screen and will no doubt be whistling with enthusiasm in the theatres.”
He also added, “Anil Sharma is not just a friend to me but also an elder brother. We have shared a strong bond since last 15 years. I really hope that in future, people will see us once again in some other project. But let’s see while collaborating.”
Sharing about his preparation for his role in Gadar 2, Rohit said: “I have always maintained a body with 6-pack abs, but since the story is set before 1971, Anil ji made me bulkier. To achieve this look, I have put on around 3-4 kilos. For the past two years, I haven’t shaved my beard as my character’s look in Gadar 2 requires me to keep a beard. I have decided not to cut it till the release of the film.”
In conclusion, Rohit said, “I am happy to share that I have started getting offers from Bollywood projects, which is really exciting for my journey in the film world.”
