Ganja worth crores seized in Chhattisgarh, NCB takes major action
Bemetra. Taking major action against illegal ganja smuggling in Bemetara district, ganja worth more than Rs 2 crore has been seized. The NCB team from Indore, Madhya Pradesh also arrested 5 accused along with 6 quintals of 28 kg of ganja. The matter is of Bemetra City Kotwali area. City Kotwali police said that on Thursday evening they had received information that a large consignment of ganja was being supplied in two suspicious vehicles near Rajput Dhaba of Kathiya village on Bemetra-Raipur National Highway. Who has been caught by the NCB team of Indore city of Madhya Pradesh.
On receiving the information, Bemetra City Kotwali police reached the spot. A total of 6 quintals and 28 kg of illegal ganja has been seized from both the vehicles caught. The estimated value of the recovered ganja is more than Rs 2 crore. Police have arrested 5 accused. Also both the vehicles have been confiscated. Police said that ganja was being supplied from Odisha to Madhya Pradesh, about which the Narcotics Department of Indore came to know. Police traced the location and caught both the vehicles in Bemetara before they could reach Madhya Pradesh.
