MP Brijmohan gave instructions to upgrade CIPET and increase seats

New Delhi/Raipur. An important meeting of the Standing Committee on Chemicals and Fertilizers of the Lok Sabha Secretariat was held in New Delhi today. In the meeting, detailed discussions were held on topics related to various departments of the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers under the Financial Grant (2025-26). Raipur MP Brijmohan Agarwal ji played an active role in this meeting and discussed in detail with the officials of the ministry. He presented important suggestions, focusing on the policies and schemes of the government in the fertilizer, chemical, petrochemical and pharmaceutical sector.

Important points in the interest of farmers and industries

  1. Fertilizers should be made available to farmers on time and at reasonable prices: MP Brijmohan- Brijmohan Agarwal ji urged the government to ensure that the farmers of the country including Chhattisgarh can get fertilizers on time and at affordable rates, so that their production cost is reduced and the agriculture sector is strengthened.
  2. Self-reliance in chemical industry and pharma sector

He emphasized on strengthening the chemical industry in the country and increasing self-reliance in the pharma sector. Under this, special facilities were demanded for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), so that they can also increase their participation in this sector.

  1. Plastic Park in Sarora Industrial Area: The progress of the plastic park under construction in Sarora Industrial Area of ​​Raipur was discussed in the meeting. This park is being set up with the aim of promoting the development of plastic and organic fertilizer industry in the country.
  2. Promotion of Nano DAP and Nano Urea: Shri Agarwal demanded promotion of Nano DAP and Nano Urea, so that more affordable and effective fertilizers can be made available to the farmers.

In the meeting, emphasis was laid on running awareness campaigns through Krishi Vigyan Kendras and Agricultural Universities across the country to promote maximum use of Nano Urea and Nano DAP. With this initiative, farmers will get more yield at lower cost. More effect will be seen in less amount of fertilizer. He said that the government is providing a subsidy of Rs 1.94 lakh crore, the use of Nano DAP and Nano Urea will reduce the subsidy expenditure of the government by Rs 2 lakh crore, which will strengthen the country’s economy.

  1. Promotion of organic fertilizers and organic medicines: In the meeting, special emphasis was laid on the use of organic fertilizers and organic medicines to promote environmentally friendly agriculture. This will give farmers more benefits from the use of natural resources.

New gifts given to Chhattisgarh

  • Instructions were given to upgrade the Central Institute of Plastic Engineering Technology (CIPET) located in Raipur and increase the number of seats. This will provide new opportunities for technical education and employment to the youth of Chhattisgarh.
  • Instructions were given to complete the Nirvana Plastic Park under construction in Sarada Industrial Area of ​​Raipur soon, which will promote new industries and investment in this area.
  • Instructions were given to conduct a comprehensive survey for the development of petrochemical industry in Chhattisgarh, which will pave the way for new investment and industrial opportunities in the state.

In this meeting, Hon’ble MP Brijmohan Agrawal said that it is our priority to ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach farmers and industries on time. He directed the officials to speed up the development of fertilizer, chemical and pharmaceutical industry in the entire country including Chhattisgarh.
