Gehlot gave relief from inflation by giving gas cylinders at Rs

JAIPUR (IANS). At a time when people are struggling with inflation and finding it difficult to earn two meals a day, the Rajasthan government has provided gas cylinders for Rs.

Rajasthan has become the only state in the country to offer gas cylinders at Rs 500 per cylinder

The price of domestic gas cylinders has more than doubled since the launch of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY).

As a result, beneficiary families are finding it difficult to refill their cylinder every month. But the Rajasthan government has come up with a very different model, which has become a topic of discussion across the state and the country.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s government had a big promise to make LPG cylinders at Rs 500, which was implemented recently, barely six months before the Assembly elections in Rajasthan. The move was well received by women in the state, who were known to support the BJP, especially during the Lok Sabha elections after the launch of PMUY.

This is the largest cooking gas subsidy in the country.

This was the first major promise made by the Ashok Gehlot government in December last year. Soon after, the next step was taken, 100 units of free electricity to every family. In February, the government also announced an increase in the coverage amount of its flagship health scheme, Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana, from Rs 10 lakh per family to Rs 25 lakh per annum.

“Rajasthan has become a model state of the country in every field including social security, education, medicine, health, information technology, women empowerment and employment. Rajasthan is the only state in the country that has enacted laws including free treatment of up to Rs 25 lakh and accident insurance of Rs 10 lakh, free medicines and testing facilities under the Mukhyamantri Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana.

“World class institutes like IITs, IIMs, NIFTs are open in the state. Under dairy cattle insurance, Annapurna diet kits, Mukhyamantri Gramin Rojgar Garanti Yojana and Indira Gandhi Urban Rojgar Guarantee Yojana, 125 days employment guarantee is being given to the weaker sections.” .” “There has been remarkable work in every area in the state,” he said.

“We are taking suggestions and advice from 10 million people in Rajasthan Mission-2030,” Gehlot told a delegation of Domestic Gas Distributors Association. He asked LPG gas distributors to send their suggestions to Mission-2

The program was attended by the President of the Association, Dr. Deepak Singh briefed the Chief Minister on various issues related to gas cylinder distributors. The members of the association thanked the Chief Minister for providing cylinders at Rs 500 to the eligible people.

Meanwhile, the CM said earlier, “We are talking about savings and relief. It was the subject of our budget and we are giving relief to the people,” Chief Minister Gehlot said at an event to launch the scheme.

“This is social security, such schemes and the right to health should be implemented at the national level for all citizens,” he said.

The Rs 500 LPG scheme is only for families who are in the BPL category in Rajasthan or take LPG gas cylinders under the Centre’s Ujjwala scheme. The Rajasthan government will provide the cylinder for Rs 500 to such customers.

Currently, a cylinder in Rajasthan is usually available around Rs.

According to officials, “More than 70 lakh consumers in Rajasthan got cylinders under the Ujjwala Yojana at the rate of Rs 850 per cylinder. Ujjwala consumers get a subsidy of Rs 200 from the Centre. Rajasthan has 6 lakh registered consumers in BPL category.

Thus, more than 6 lakh BPL consumers in Rajasthan get gas at the normal rate of Rs 1,050 per cylinder. They do not even get Rs 200 subsidy under the Ujjwala Yojana,” the officials said.

The Food Department of Rajasthan and the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell of the Center estimate that an average family of 3 to 4 people in Rajasthan uses a cylinder.

When the Rajasthan government provides cheaper cylinders to these more than 7 million consumers, it will have a direct impact on about 22.5 million people.

Earlier, Minister of State Pratap Singh Khachariawas said the government wanted to give benefits to all those who have been cheated in the name of Ujjwala.

The government’s scheme will benefit 70 lakh consumers and will burden the government with Rs 3,300 crore. The government will provide 12 cylinders per annum at the rate of Rs 500 per annum.
