Gen Z Rejects Forced Romance; Olivia Wilde Slams Inauthentic Sex Scenes in Cinema
Hollywood actress and director Olivia Wilde has made sensational comments on the filming of erotic scenes in films. Speaking to ‘Variety’ magazine as part of the Sundance Film Festival, she said that today’s generation of youth (Gen Z) is rejecting excessive sex scenes on the silver screen. She also said that for a long time, romance has been shown in movies without any naturalness and that the youth are not interested in watching such unrealistic scenes. Wilde believes that this generation wants stories that are closer to reality and value friendship and other relationships rather than unrealistic romances.
However, Olivia’s comments were supported by a recent survey conducted by the University of California, Los Angeles. About 48.4 percent of young people said that there is too much sexual content in TV shows and movies. These reports revealed that the trend of adding scenes that are not related to the story just for the sake of attraction needs to change, and young people are now looking for honesty and naturalness in stories.
