Girl raped on river bank, neighbor youth arrested

Raigarh. An incident of rape of a 4-year-old girl has come to light in a village in the tribal dominated Lailunga assembly constituency of the district. The girl has been admitted to Civil Hospital Lailunga in critical condition. The police have arrested the accused youth. The matter is of Lailunga police station area.

According to the information, Sachin Ekka (18), a resident of village Bosridand of Gram Panchayat Chanwarpur, took a 4-year-old girl living in his neighborhood towards the river in the name of taking him for a walk. There he committed incest with the girl. When the girl did not return home for a long time, her family members started searching for her.

On searching, the family members found the girl in an unconscious state near the river. When the girl was brought to her senses and asked, she told that Sachin had done dirty work with her. After this, her family members and villagers reached Lailunga police station with the girl and registered a case against the accused. The police took immediate action and arrested the accused youth. A case has been registered against him under sections 363, 376 A, B of IPC and POCSO Act. After medical examination of the accused, he was presented in the court, from where he has been sent to jail in judicial custody.
