Give priority to the construction works of roads which are in major demand of the public: Principal Secretary Manoj Pingua

Principal Secretary, Home and Forest Department, Manoj Pingua said that good efforts are being made for developmental works in the area, which will start showing better results in the near future. He said that the construction department should give priority to the construction works of roads which are the major demands of the people of the area. Also, revenue, police and forest departments should work together to speed up the work for construction of roads, bridges and culverts in the interior areas. Principal Secretary Pingua took a review meeting of officials of Police, Forest Department, Public Works Department, PMGSY and Telecommunication Organization in the Aastha meeting room of the district office on Friday.

The Principal Secretary reviewed the work being done by telecommunication organizations in Bastar division area. Along with this, progress was made in the development of roads of PMGSY, construction works of RRP-01,02 under LWE of Public Works Department, progress of road-bridge construction works in Chhattisgarh-Maharashtra state border, progress of electrification works by CSPDCL. Reviewed.

In the meeting, the Principal Secretary stressed upon the PMGSY officials to immediately make payment to the laborers engaged in the development of roads. He also discussed getting the ashram-hostel, hostels operated in other places in the name of the places which have become Naxal-free in the sensitive areas of Bastar region, to be operated in the same village. Also the progress of Manwa Nava Nar run by the police department was also discussed. While reviewing the works of the Forest Department in the meeting, emphasis was laid on increasing the livelihood opportunities through the economic activities being carried out by the beneficiary oriented, self-help groups of Van Dhan Vikas Kendra, Prime Minister Janman in the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra. Apart from this, necessary instructions were given by discussing the works of CAMPA fund, action plan for tree plantation, selection of beneficiaries, purchase of minor forest produce, registration of minor forest produce collectors, plantation of trees on river banks, incident of wildlife-human conflict.
