Goa needs action plan for ‘har office graduate’: Yuri
Margao: Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao on Sunday criticized the chief minister over his ‘har ghar graduate’ statement, saying there was a need for the state to have an action plan.
“Finally Chief Minister Pramod Sawant accepts the harsh reality of ‘har ghar graduate.’ There are enough graduates sitting at home due to the failure of the BJP government to create employment opportunities. Goa needs an action plan for ‘every office graduate’ instead,” he said.
NITI Aayog headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already certified that Goa ranks first at the national level in unemployment rate as well as the CMIE report which has exposed the unemployment in Goa, he said.
“The BJP government spent almost Rs 4 crore on the mega job fair where almost 22,000 unemployed youth were registered. The government finally admitted that hardly 500 were given jobs, that too on contract.”
Pointing to the ‘Goa Vision 2035 document’ that was prepared by the Golden Jubilee Committee during the Congress government, Alemao urged the CM to introspect the fall in ranking of Goa University over the past several years and implement the document to help solve the unemployment issue. in the state.
