Goa news: Police arrested man who posted obscene video on Instagram
Goa: Goa Police on Saturday arrested a 20-year-old man for posting obscene video of a woman on social media. An official gave this information. Advertisement Superintendent of Police (Cyber crimes) Rahul Gupta said that after investigation, the police have arrested Vinay Gaonkar, a resident of Canacona taluka in South Goa.He said that the cyber crime police had registered a case under the Information Technology (IT) Act in April based on a complaint against the Instagram handle of the accused. The official said that the accused created an Instagram handle under a fake name and befriended the complainant, a resident of Margao city.
He said that he allegedly posted obscene chats and videos of the complainant and threatened her. The official said that the accused is a student of an Industrial Training Institute and has confessed to his crime. He said that the police have recovered the chats and obscene videos of the victim from the accused’s phone, which will be sent for forensic examination. The SP appealed to the people to verify the authenticity of any account on social media before engaging in video chat or any other form of communication.
