Government was already on alert mode regarding floods: Chief Minister Yogi
Lucknow (IANS). Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited the flood-affected districts of Farrukhabad, Kasganj and Shahjahanpur on Monday. He conducted aerial and terrestrial survey of the flood affected areas. Also reviewed the relief and rescue operations.
Apart from this, CM Yogi met the flood victims and also distributed relief materials. CM Yogi said that the double engine government is standing with the public with full commitment at the time of disaster.
The government was already on alert mode regarding the floods. In this regard, we had instructed the public representatives to visit those areas with full sensitivity, where there is a possibility of floods.
He said that at present 721 villages of 21 districts of the state are affected by floods. On one side there is flood and on the other side there is drought. This strange situation is being seen in the entire state.
CM Yogi said that 12 districts of the state have received more than average rainfall. On the other hand, 26 districts have received normal rainfall, 22 districts have less than average and 15 districts are almost in drought-like condition.
CM Yogi said that 1101 flood shelters and 1504 flood posts have been set up across the state. More than two thousand medical teams are being constituted and treatment is being provided to the people. Along with this, relief work is being conducted through 2040 boats.
He said that in view of the floods, our government is also taking care of the animals. For this, 840 cattle feed camps have been set up. With this, more than 28 lakh animals have been vaccinated. Our government is taking forward the process of providing timely compensation by conducting a survey of farmers whose crops have been destroyed due to floods.
He addressed the flood relief material distribution program organized near Jamapur Road of Amritpur Tehsil in Farrukhabad. During this, CM Yogi said that those who have suffered losses due to the disaster, they will be provided compensation on time.
He said that 116 villages in Farrukhabad have been affected by the floods in Ganga and Ramganga rivers. A population of 80 thousand has been affected by this. In Farrukhabad, 22 houses have been completely damaged, they will be provided one house each under the Chief Minister’s Housing Scheme. Compensation will be provided to six partially damaged houses. Compensation will also be given to 70 huts that were damaged.
Instructions have already been given to take the displaced families from the government level to flood shelters.
CM Yogi also reached Kasganj district, where he inquired about the condition of the flood victims. During this, he made a terrestrial inspection and gave necessary guidelines to the officials to speed up the relief work.
On the other hand, while addressing the relief material distribution program organized in Varauna village of Patiali tehsil, CM Yogi said that after the water recedes, our government will try to find a permanent solution to the flood problem in Kasganj. For this, the Irrigation Department has been directed to channelize the rivers by dredging them.
The Chief Minister conducted an aerial survey of flood-affected villages of Jalalabad and Kaland tehsils in Shahjahanpur. CM Yogi said that the government is with you at the time of tragedy. We are committed to assist you in every possible way.
He said that the problem of flood arises in Shahjahanpur due to river Ganga, Ramganga and Kali. Our government will find a permanent solution to this. Instructions have been given to the Irrigation Department for this.
He said that the relief material should be distributed twice in the villages which have been affected by floods for more than 15 days. Along with this, relief material should be distributed three times in the areas which are affected by floods for more than one month.
Yogi said that parallel to the damaged bridge here, he will proceed with the process of building the bridge as soon as possible.
