Governor CV Anand Bose removes Jadavpur University interim VC Buddhadev Sao on disciplinary grounds

Bengal Occidental Governor CV Anand Bose, who is also the rector of all state universities, removed Jadavpur University Vice Chancellor Buddhadeb Sau on Saturday night for disciplinary reasons, a Raj Bhavan official said.

The decision was taken a night before the university celebrated its convocation on Sunday.

He said Bose has also constituted an inquiry committee to investigate various queries received internally against the VC.

“The Rector challenged the orders and resigned from the post of Jadavpur University’s interim VC Buddhadev Sao,” the official told PTI. He has also formed an inquiry committee to investigate the various queries his office received against SAW.”

Sao, a mathematics professor, was named JU’s VC arbitrator in August this year.
