Governor extends greetings on International Youth Day

Raipur: Marking the upcoming International Youth Day on August 12, Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan has extended his warm greetings and best wishes to the youth of the state.

The Governor stated that youth play a pivotal role in nation’s development. The observance of Youth Day is geared towards fostering greater involvement of the youth in matters of societal, economic, and political significance, while also underlining their invaluable contributions to the country’s progress. He added that United Nations has designated this year’s International Youth Day theme as Green Skills for Youth: Towards a Sustainable World. A commendable initiative aimed at fostering skill development in the environment and forest sector is currently underway, with active involvement from both the Central and State Governments. This initiative focuses on engaging the youth in acquiring green skills, which is expected to yield favourable outcomes in the near future with regard to environmental protection and addressing climate change.
