Governor R.V. Orlekar hails Thiruvalluvar as saint, praises Thirukkural

Tamil Nadu: R. V. Arlekar has stated that Thiruvalluvar was a saint and that the Thirukkural he composed is still extremely useful to society. He made this statement on Saturday at the Thiruvalluvar Thirunal Festival held at the Raj Bhavan in Guindy, Chennai.

During the event, the Governor highlighted Thiruvalluvar’s life and literary contributions, saying that reading the Thirukkural gives an understanding of Thiruvalluvar’s great thinker and guide.
