Governor Ravi will flag off the 15th National Tribal Youth Exchange Program
Chennai: To provide opportunities to tribal youth from remote tribal areas of the country, Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi will inaugurate the 15th National Tribal Youth Exchange Program (NTYE) in the city on Wednesday (November 22).
Addressing journalists here, State Director of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) K Kunhammad said that to provide the tribal youth of selected states and districts an opportunity to visit various places to understand the cultural ethos, language and lifestyle Is. “The focus of the program is to create awareness about education, skill development, employment opportunities and socio-economic development of tribal communities,” Kunhammad said.
“TN Governor Ravi will inaugurate the seven-day program on November 22. In the seven-day programme, various activities including educational sessions by experts, traditional folk performances from the participating states, fitness activities, exposure visits will be organised. Apart from this, the tribal youth will be taken on tours to Chennai Port Trust, CRPF Center at Avadi, Tamil Nadu Science and Technology Centre, BM Birla Planetarium, Aavin Ambattur, Marina beach and resorts on different days.
Additionally, J Sampathkumar, Deputy Director, NYKS, said, “A total of 200 boys and girls in the age group of 18 to 21 years studying in various schools and colleges from remote areas of Jharkhand, Odisha, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. ” 20 escort officers from CRPF, BSF and NYKS will participate in the program.
