Green zone needs budget

The Tutil Garden, which was being built with a budget of Rs 7 crore for the last seven years in Tang Narwana near the tourism-sports city Dharamshala, has now been converted into Dhauladhar Bio-Diversity Park. But more than seven years later, the park is still in limbo without a budget. This park had two components, one built up area and the other green zone.
The work of built up area has been done through Asian Development Bank with a budget of around Rs 7 crore, while the work of green zone is stuck due to lack of budget. The state government has announced to make district Kangra the tourism capital, hence the responsibility of operating this site has been handed over to Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HTDC). In the park, instead of flowers, bushes are ruling the place.
Due to the great negligence of the state government, administration and tourism department, in the last seven years, the second Tulip Garden in the country and the first Tulip Garden in the hilly state of Himachal has now become Dhauladhar Biodiversity Park, whereas after the first Tulip Garden in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand. And a tulip garden was also prepared in Palampur of Himachal.
Under the Asian Development Bank funded project Conserving Prominent Temple Precincts and Upgrading Urban Infrastructure for Tourism in Dharamshala and Mcleodganj, not a single tulip plant has been planted worth Rs 7 crore. Other flowers grown under the project have also been uprooted. The construction work of Tulip Garden was started on September 10, 2016. Whereas on August 31, 2020, the work was completed by making it Dhauladhar Biodiversity Park.
Tulips could not be planted in the Bio-Diversity Park, but in the work of the park which was completed three years ago, Amfi Theatre, Interpretation Centre, Hut Area, Cafeteria, Cycling Track, Garden, Children Park and small pounds have been built, but The purpose with which the creation of this first and unique park of its kind in Himachal was started, seems to be hanging in the balance.
Dinesh Sharma, DFO of Van Mandal Dharamshala, said that out of the two components of Biodiversity Park in Tang Narwana, the built up area has been completed through ADB, the second one was a green zone proposed in it, for which work was done after making budget provisions. Will go. As per the instructions of the government, this site will soon be operated through Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HTDC). All facilities will be provided to the people under the Eco Tourism Policy.
