Guidelines issued for pre-matric, post-matric scholarship programmes
CHENNAI: A set of guidelines has been issued to streamline the distribution of education assistance through pre-matric and post-matric scholarship program for the upcoming academic year. The purpose of these instructions is to ensure that eligible students can receive the support they need to pursue their education effectively.
The Education Department said that eligible students seeking educational assistance will have to submit their caste certificate.
Specific income criteria have been established to determine the annual income of parents or guardians of scholarship beneficiaries.
“It is mandatory for students to link their bank account information with the concerned education department. Accurate bank account details are required, and students or their parents must provide their Aadhaar number,” the circular said.
Students who have not received their caste and income certificates should immediately visit the government’s e-seva center to obtain the required documents.
The registration process for students has been streamlined through the Educational Management Information System (EMIS) portal.
School-specific student details can be viewed and submitted on the website emis.tnschools.gov.in and http://emis.tnschools.gov.in.
The circular from the education department said that accurate and timely registration of caste certificate, income certificate, Aadhaar number and bank account details of students in EMIS is of utmost importance. “These works are expected to be completed by November 15. Education officers of all districts have been directed to supervise and monitor these activities for students seeking educational assistance.”
