Gujarat: Under ‘The Atmanirbhar Gujarat Schemes for Assistance to Industries’, 59 MoUs were signed with the state government for a total of Rs 90,665 crore

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the state government has taken another step towards realizing the call of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi by making ‘Atmanirbhar Gujarat’ a huge investment MoU. With this commitment to build ‘Atmanirbhar Gujarat se Atmanirbhar Bharat’, the ‘The Atmanirbhar Gujarat Schemes for Assistance to Industries’, announced by the state government in October-2022 under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, is making a significant contribution. Under this scheme, on the first day of every week i.e. on Monday, a new venture is organized between various entrepreneurs and the state government to start industries at different places in the state.

Gujarat attracts total proposed capital investment of Rs 90,665 crore

Under the direction of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, six phases of this initiative have been completed from February 13, 2023 to March 27, 2023 and a total of 59 MoUs have been signed. As a result, a total proposed capital investment of Rs 90,665 crore has been attracted in Gujarat. Not only this, about 65,431 people will also get employment opportunities in the coming days due to the start of these industries. In the areas where MoUs have been signed so far, 40 thousand proposed employment opportunities will be available in chemical sector, 6 thousand in engineering sector and 5 thousand in renewable energy sector. Giving further momentum to “The Self-reliant Gujarat Schemes for Assistance to Industries”, 3 MoUs in a single day on this Monday i.e. March 27
Various entrepreneurs did this in front of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.

Other countries including Germany, USA, UK, Kuwait, Malaysia have signed MoUs earlier to set up industries in the state.

Through these 3 MoUs signed in the inspiring presence of Industries Minister Balwant Singh Rajput, a proposed investment of Rs 11,291 crore will come to the state and about 10,600 potential jobs will be created. Investments will come in pharmaceutical and sodaash industries under these multilateral MoUs. Two Indian companies and one Japanese company have shown interest in setting up their production units at Nakhatrana (Kutch), Walia (Bharuch) and Sanand (Ahmedabad) respectively among the industries that have signed MoUs. Under this “The Atmanirbhar Gujarat Schemes for Assistance to Industries”, other countries including Germany, USA, UK, Kuwait, Malaysia have signed MoUs earlier to set up industries in the state.

Signed MoU and exchanged documents in front of Chief Minister and Ministers

Kamal Dayani, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries Department, signed the MoU on behalf of the state government and concerned entrepreneurs on behalf of their units and exchanged the documents in front of the Chief Minister and the ministers. Chief Secretary Mr. Raj Kumar, Industries Commissioner Rahul Gupta and Managing Director (MD) of Industrial Extension Bureau (Index-B) Ms. Mamta Heerpara and senior officers were also present on the occasion.
