Mohali (IANS) | Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya has been fined Rs 12 lakh for slow over-rate in their IPL match against Punjab Kings on Thursday night.
The over rate continues to be a major issue in the current IPL and many matches have gone on for almost four hours.
“As this was the team’s first offense this season under the IPL Code of Conduct regarding slow over rate, Pandya is fined Rs 12 lakh,” read a statement released by the tournament.
Earlier, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis and Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson were fined the same amount for slow over-rates in their matches.
Gujarat will next take on Rajasthan Royals at home on Sunday, while Punjab will take on Lucknow on Saturday.
