Harish Rao’s plans for BRS work in Medak
Sangareddy: Even though Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) lost the statewide elections, the party first performed well in Medak district, thanks to T strategist Harish Rao. Apart from taking the responsibility of campaigning across the state in support of other BRS candidates, Harish Rao closely monitored all the election contesting candidates in the district on a daily basis. Listening to the speeches of the opposition party candidates from each constituency, Rao gave them plans to counter the statements of the rivals. Harish Rao, who has already won seven consecutive elections in Siddipet, had over the years planned to allot the work of 100 voters to a worker in each, besides campaigning in different constituencies across the state. of electoral districts in the past. Medak. Candidates from all constituencies followed a similar methodology. In Sangareddy constituency, party candidate Chintha Prabhakar and coordinator Erola Srinivas performed better than any other constituency. The result was clear when Prabhakar won with a majority of 9,297 votes despite a strong challenge from sitting Congress MLA T Jagga Reddy. With Jagga Reddy staying away from the constituency for most of the last five years, Harish Rao had asked the cadre to highlight it, and it seems to have worked in BRS’s favor here. When the election notification was issued, K Manik Rao was far behind Congress candidate A Chandrashekhar in Zaheerabad. However, Harish Rao guided him and visited Zaheerabad a few days before the voting. The plan then helped the party win a majority of over 13,000 votes, much to everyone’s surprise. When Kotha Prabhakar Reddy was hospitalized after the attack, Harish Rao asked Prabhakar Reddy’s son and wife to take charge of the campaign, besides giving the responsibility to others, including former MLC Farooq Hussain. Although he was touring across the state, Harish Rao was in constant touch with the candidates, in-charges and other key leaders. Patancheru MLA Gudem Mahipal Reddy and Narasapur MLA Vaikiti Sunita Lakshma Reddy also received constant support and guidance from Harish Rao. However, poor implementation of schemes in Narayankhed, Andole and Medak cost the party heavily in these three constituencies.
