Haryana: Husband strangled wife to death, arrested
Haryana: A 24-year-old woman was allegedly strangled to death by her husband in a rented room in Narsinghpur village in Gurugram city on Sunday. The accused, Gautam (31), a resident of Singa village in Uttar Pradesh’s Khushinagar district, was arrested a day after the incident. Police took the body into their custody. The victim’s brother identified the body and told police that his sister and other family members had come with her to Rajiv Nagar in Gurugram in 2022.
Where Gautam met her. She became pregnant by Gautam, who refused to marry her. Following this, a criminal case of rape was registered against Gautam, but later Gautam married her and the matter was settled by the court with mutual consent. She gave birth to a baby girl. After this, Gautam started harassing her. He would often beat her, the brother told police that Gautam had killed his sister.
