Haryana: Police busted interstate gang of cyber criminals
Panchkula: Police have arrested three members of an interstate gang that duped people on the pretext of doubling their money through investments and likes on social media posts.
The suspects were identified as Javed, Saurav and Prashant, residents of Yamunanagar. Ten mobile phones, 15 SIM cards and details of social media accounts have been recovered from them.
Today SP Cyber Crime, Panchkula Amit Dahiya addressed the media regarding the matter. He said the police started investigating the case when they received a complaint of fraud of Rs 19.40 lakh from an Ambala resident.
Dahiya said, “The gang has created micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) trading firms registered in Ambala, Karnal and Kurukshetra, among other places. He also works from Thane, Mumbai. They have registered their firms in the names of other people in places where they have not even visited. The amount they defrauded innocent people was transferred using UPI. The police produced the suspects in the local court and obtained six-day police remand. Police officials said that an accomplice of the three suspects is absconding, the police is preparing to conduct a raid to arrest him also.
