Haryana: Youth showed their talent in the state junior athletics championship

Haryana: Young athletes from across the state showcased their talent in various track and field events during the 37th Haryana State Junior Athletics Championship-2024. They performed in 5,000m race, pole vault, javelin throw, shot put, long jump, hurdles, discus throw and other events. In the men’s 5,000m event, Avkash secured first, Vansh second and Sumit Rathi third. In the pole vault event, Achanak topped the pole, while Parveen and Mohit Singh secured second and third positions respectively. In the shot put competitions in the boys’ under-18 category, Yuvraj topped, followed by Akshay and Sawan at second and third positions. In the under-16 shot put event, Nitesh Kumar finished first, Ritesh Chahal and Ravi secured second and third positions respectively.

Javelin throw competition for boys under-16 age group was also another attraction, in which Vikas secured first, Aniket second and Prince third. In the 5,000m girls event, Kajal secured the first position, followed by Lalita and Preena, second and third respectively. In the girls under-20 pole vault, Vanshika Ghanghas secured the first position, Bhumika and Payal secured the second and third positions. In the under-16 girls category, Muskan, Nishan and Anisha secured the first, second and third positions respectively in javelin throw. In the 5,000m walk, Sachin, Sahil June and Sahil Atkan secured the first, second and third positions respectively. In the girls under-16 shotput, Anjali secured the top position, followed by Riya and Sakshi, second and third. In the girls under-16 long jump, Diksha secured the first, Anmol second and Komal third positions. In the boys under-18, 1,000m race, Prince secured the first, Mohit second and Satish third positions. In the under-18 girls’ 1000 meter event, Heena secured first, Sanjana second and Muskan third place. In the under-18 boys’ long jump, Krishna Kumar secured first, Man Singh second and Dinesh Tanwar secured second and third place respectively. In the under-20 boys’ 800 meter race, Dhoni emerged victorious, while Kapil and Neeraj Sharma secured second and third place. In the under-20 girls’ 800 meter race, Geetika secured first, Tamanna second and Chanchal third place. In the under-20 boys’ shotput, Munish, Bharti Saini and Payal occupied the top three positions. In the under-18 girls’ long jump, Muskan, Neha and Kashish secured first, second and third place. In the under-16 boys’ long jump, Anshu secured first place, followed by Mohammad Ayan and Bhavet at second and third places. Tushar won the boys’ under-16 600m race, while Akshay Bharadwaj and Akash Kumar secured the second and third positions. In the girls’ under-20 100m race, Sania, Shalenshi and Kasvi secured the top three positions. In the boys’ under-16 80m hurdles, Bhupendra Singh won the first position, followed by Karandeep in second and Lakshya in third. In the girls’ under-16 80m hurdles, Raunak, Muskan and Palak secured the first, second and third positions respectively.
