M.H. Jawahirullah’s statement on the relationship between the DMK and the MLA
Tamil Nadu: Human People’s Party leader M.H. Jawahirullah has issued a statement regarding the relationship between the DMK and MLA. He stated that the relationship between the two parties is not merely electoral, but entirely policy-based. He issued this statement on Sunday, in which he also refuted rumors circulating on social media.
Jawahirullah stated that misinformation has been spreading on social media for the past few days regarding a perceived rift between the DMK and MLA. He clarified that there is no political distance between the two parties and that their relationship is not limited to elections, but also has a strong policy-level connection. According to him, this alliance and cooperation is based on long-standing collaboration on various political and social issues.
He also noted that MLA contested the 2021 and 2026 assembly elections on the DMK’s symbol. In this process, certain Election Commission regulations affected the registration of parties that did not contest on their own symbols. The MLA’s registration was also cancelled on this basis. However, the legal process regarding this matter is still ongoing and the case is pending in the Chennai High Court.
Jawahirullah stated that some people are misinterpreting the entire issue and attempting to spread political confusion. He appealed to the public to ignore unverified and misleading information being spread on social media and to rely only on official statements.
He also reiterated that the relationship between the DMK and its allies is based on political stability and shared policies, which is reflected in cooperation on various issues from time to time. He said that the strength of the alliance cannot be weakened by false propaganda.
