Head Constable Injured While Trying to Catch Sheep Thieves

Maganur: An incident occurred in the Maganur police station area where a head constable was injured while trying to catch goat and sheep thieves. The police are conducting night patrols to prevent goat and sheep thefts in the Maganur and Krishna mandals.
Sheepherders from Gudigandla village were on their way to Raichur to sell their sheep and stopped near the Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple in Maganur. At the same time, unidentified persons came in a car and tried to steal the sheep there, but they fled on seeing the police who arrived there. The police chased the car and alerted the nearby police.
Seeing the police, the thieves turned the car around and fled, while the police tried to stop the car by placing a bus and a lorry on the road near Maganur police station. In this process, the car came at a fast pace and hit the bus hard. Head Constable Arjun, who was there, tried to catch the thief, but the thief pushed him hard and fled. As a result, the head constable suffered serious injuries to his head, leg and hand, said Sub-Inspector Ashok Babu.
The head constable has been shifted to a government hospital for treatment and is being treated, it was explained. The car has been seized and a knife, screw driver and cellphone found in the car have been seized.
