Health camps will be organized from Oct 29 to Dec 31 on Sundays
CHENNAI: The state health department will organize 10,000 medical camps across the state every Sunday from October 29 to December 31 to prevent monsoon diseases as the northeast monsoon commenced over Tamil Nadu. Health Minister Ma Subramanian on Wednesday stated that at least 1,000 health camps will be set up on Sundays and public is advised to utilize the camp if they develop fever symptoms.
“During the monsoon season, the number of fever cases witnesses a spike in the state. So far, 490 dengue cases and 5 deaths reported in Tamil Nadu. This would be the first time to organize 1,000 medical camps for 10 weeks during the monsoon season. If people experience fever-related symptoms they should visit the nearby health centers or make use of medical camps set up on Sundays,” said Subramanian.
Meanwhile, the health minister inspected the 8 km health walk corridor at Besant Nagar for the benefit of the public. The officials are instructed to maintain the roads. As announced in the financial year budget 2023 – 2024, the government has planned to set up health walk in 38 districts. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin will inaugurate the health walk on November 4.
