Hearing on recruitment of 5994 teachers postponed in High Court
Chandigarh. 5994 ETT in Punjab School Education Department. A case was heard in the Punjab and Haryana High Court regarding the recruitment of teachers. Meanwhile, the court has fixed the next hearing of the case on January 30, 2024. Giving information about this matter, Punjab Government spokesperson said that the matter regarding recruitment of 5994 teachers was listed for hearing before the double bench headed by Justice Deepak Sibal and Honorable Justice Amarjot Bhatti.
During the hearing, Senior Deputy Advocate General Ramandeep Singh Pandher appeared on behalf of the Punjab government.
While strongly supporting the Punjab Government, he said that along with the decision taken by the Punjab Government, similar decisions have been passed by different courts in similar cases. Therefore this matter should also be resolved.
Due to the regular bench of Honorable Justice Deepak Sibal and Honorable Justice Sukhwinder Kaur, fixing its next hearing on January 30, 2024, it said that if no decision is given by the Supreme Court by January 30, 2024, then it will proceed on the writ petition filed in 5994 cases. Will take a decision regarding the hearing.
It is important to mention here that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is trying to complete this recruitment process soon. Efforts are being made to find a quick solution to this matter by School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains by taking personal interest with departmental officials and the Advocate Branch.
