Heavy rainfall in Odisha from tomorrow, yellow warning issued to 11 districts for today
Bhubaneswar: A cyclonic circulation continues to develop over Myanmar. It is likely to move towards Northern Andaman sea adjoining East-central Bay of Bengal within the next 24 hours. A low pressure is likely to form over the Bay of bengal within next 48 hours.
Further, this is likely to intensify into a depression. Due to the impact of which, rainfall is expected in several areas across Odisha from tomorrow. The regional meteorological department has issued alerts in view of moderate to heavy rainfall for the next four days.
11 districts have been issued a yellow warning in view of lightning along with thunderstorm for today. The intensity of rainfall in Odisha is likely to increase from tomorrow. A yellow warning has been issued to 17 districts for tomorrow. Five districts are likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall tomorrow. These districts include Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Nabarangapur, Koraput, and Malkangiri.
The heaviest rainfall is expected on September 30 and October 1. Several areas across Odisha are likely to experience very heavy rainfall on October 1. Forecasts predict heavy to very heavy rainfall in areas across coastal, Northern, and Western Odisha. Alerts have been issued accordingly.
