Hemant Soren’s arrest is humiliating and shameful: Chief Minister Stalin
Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Thursday condemned the arrest of JMM leader Hemant Soren by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and said the act smacks of desperation and abuse of power by the BJP government at the Centre.
Terming the arrest of Soren, who had resigned as Jharkhand chief minister just before his arrest, as “disgraceful and shameful”, Stalin criticized the BJP and said the opposition would not be intimidated by his actions.

Soren was arrested after hours of questioning by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case related to the alleged land scam.
“The arrest of Honorable Jharkhand Chief Minister Tiru @HemantSorenJMM is a blatant display of political vendetta by the Central BJP government. Using investigative agencies to harass a tribal leader is a new low. This act smacks of desperation and abuse of power. BJP’s dirty tactics will not silence opposition voices,” Stalin said in a post on social media platform X.
“Despite BJP’s vindictive politics, Thiru @HemantSorenJMM remains strong, refusing to bow down. His flexibility in adverse circumstances is commendable. Their determination to fight against the bullying tactics of the BJP is an inspiration,” he said in the post.
