Higher education should be free in Tamil Nadu: VIT Chancellor G. Viswanathan appeals to the Chief Minister
Tamil Nadu: VIT University Chancellor Go. Viswanathan appealed to Chief Minister M.K. Stalin to take steps to make higher education free for all in Tamil Nadu.
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s 73rd birthday was celebrated on Tuesday by the DMK at the Raja Annamalai Mandram in the Parimunai area of Port West 59 and 59A. The event was presided over by DMK Circle Secretary and Chief Executive Committee member Vijayakumar. Hindu Religious and Endowments Minister P.K. Sekhar Babu was present. Chennai Mayor R. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is currently prioritizing education. Additionally, higher education is free in 50 countries. In some of these countries, higher education is also provided free of charge to foreigners. Therefore, the Chief Minister should create a situation where higher education is also free in Tamil Nadu. Countries with high levels of higher education will see their economies grow.

Stalin’s 73rd birthday, he said: In the past five years, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has traveled 173 times and participated in 8,585 programs over 1,725 days, excluding the program in Chennai. He has participated in government welfare programs in Tamil Nadu districts and provided welfare assistance to 4.444 million people.
He has also signed 15,000 government files. Through 1,229 MoUs signed to start businesses in Tamil Nadu, industrial investment worth ₹12 lakh crore has been attracted and 3.5 million jobs have been created. As a result, Tamil Nadu has achieved double-digit economic growth of 11.19 percent in domestic production.
The Home Health Care Scheme has benefited 25 million people. A breakfast scheme has been implemented in 37,000 government primary and middle schools across Tamil Nadu, benefiting 2 million students. The “I am First” scheme has led to government school students qualifying for the Indian Civil Services. His track record in his four and a half years in power is impressive. As Valluvar says, “I will do it because I will do it.” The Chief Minister knows exactly who to delegate what to. That’s why he has entrusted the Hindu Religious Endowments Department to P.K. Sekhar Babu. Over the past four and a half years, dilapidated temples in Tamil Nadu have been rebuilt. Kudamuzhu has been performed in 4,000 of these temples. Land worth ₹8,000 crore has been reclaimed and returned to the respective temples.
The Chief Minister’s attitude of respecting elders is commendable. In every district he visits, people are surprised and delighted by his activity of personally meeting senior DMK leaders to inquire about their well-being. He said that efforts to build a statue to commemorate the centenary of novelist Nedunchezhiyan, who had left the party and committed many crimes, cannot be ignored.
