Himachal: Discussed the need to prioritize mental health and well-being

Himachal Pradesh: World Mental Health Day was celebrated today at Himachal Mental Health and Rehabilitation Hospital, Shimla. The theme of the event was “It’s time to prioritise mental health at the workplace”. Dr Surekha Chopra, Senior Medical Superintendent, who was present as the chief guest at the workplace, in her address emphasised the importance of mental health awareness and the need to integrate mental health in all walks of life, especially the workplace.

She highlighted the important role played by healthcare professionals and organisations in creating a supportive environment for mental health. Dr Kushel Varman and Dr Devika Chauhan spoke on the theme of the day and highlighted strategies to promote a supportive work environment. Dr Aditya Sharma spoke on the importance of stress management and mental health. Dr Gaurav Thakur emphasised on the connection between oral and dental care and overall mental health, an often overlooked aspect of overall health.
