Himachal: Mandi won the overall trophy in the Master Games Championship
Himachal Pradesh: The team of Mandi district won the overall trophy in the 13th Master Games State Level Championship concluded at Kehlur Sports Complex in Bilaspur on Sunday. The team of Hamirpur district bagged the runners-up trophy in this prestigious championship. Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani presented awards to the players during the closing ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, Dharmani appreciated the role of Bilaspur in becoming a hub of sports activities after the establishment of Kehlur Sports Complex. He credited the Congress government for the development of sports infrastructure in the region and praised the participation of over 400 players from across the state in 14 different sports events.
Dharamani also highlighted the importance of Master Games Association (MGA) in promoting sports among senior players and said, “MGA provides a great opportunity to elderly players to remain engaged in sports and maintain an active lifestyle regardless of age.” He appreciated the MGA for planning to host the National Master Games Championship in Dharamshala next year. Many dignitaries including former MLA Tilak Raj Sharma, Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson Sandeep Sankhyan, Zila Parishad member Gaurav Sharma, Advocate General Vinod Kumar and Organizing Secretary Tejaswi Sharma were present in this program.
