Himachal Pradesh: Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) bagged the first position for its attractive tableau at the opening ceremony of Manali Winter Carnival on January 20. Announcing the achievement, HPSEBL Advisor (PR) Anurag Parashar said that the tableau was the main attraction of the festival. This year’s tableau was based on voluntary forsaking of power subsidy by domestic consumers. It creatively depicted HPSEBL’s scheme to encourage consumers to give up subsidy and showcased the economic benefits of this initiative.
The tableau had the Chief Minister’s message in the front, urging people to give up subsidy, the middle portion had economic development in the state as a result of giving up subsidy, the rear portion had the voluntary giving up of subsidy by local MLA Bhubaneswar and slogans promoting the initiative. According to Parashar, the design, colour scheme, enthusiastic participation of HPSEBL employees and effective delivery of the message made the tableau stand out. It was highly appreciated by both locals and tourists during the parade from Circuit House to Hadimba Mata Temple via Manali bazaar. The first prize trophy was awarded to HPSEBL on the last day of the carnival. A similar tableau on the same theme was also displayed at The Ridge in Shimla during the Republic Day celebrations. Parashar stressed that the primary goal of the tableau was to spread awareness about the state government’s scheme and encourage more people to participate in the initiative.
