Hisar: Minister suspends transport officer

Hisar: Industry and Commerce Minister Moolchand Sharma today suspended the Motor Vehicle Officer of District Regional Transport Office of Charkhi Dadri district on charges of negligence in duty and ignoring necessary meetings while hearing complaints. The minister was chairing a meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievance Redressal Committee in Dadri town. A complainant said that overloaded trucks pass through Dadri town every day, due to which roads are getting damaged and the lives of other passengers are in danger, but no action is being taken by the Regional Transport Office. While ordering the suspension of the MVO, the minister said that only issuing challan is not the solution to the problem. The officers should strictly prohibit overloading in vehicles. He directed the Secretary of the Regional Transport Authority to coordinate with the neighboring districts for strict compliance of the rules in this regard.
