Honor killing: 19 year old boy murdered, girl’s father and brother arrested

Meerut: A 19-year-old youth from Kankarkheda area of Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh was murdered by his girlfriend’s father and brother. Later the body was thrown into the drain. Mrityak Vikas’s body was recovered from a drain in Lala Mohammadpur, Meerut. He was in a relationship with a 16-year-old girl living in the neighbourhood.

The girl’s brother had called Vikas near LIC ground. Where he was murdered by hitting an iron rod on his head. According to the police, initial investigation shows that this incident is related to honor killing.

Circle Officer Daurala Abhishek Patel said, “Based on the complaint lodged against the girl’s father Jitendra, brother Sudhanshu and Satyam, we have registered an FIR at Kankarkheda police station under sections 201 (causing destruction of evidence of crime) and 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code. “

“The accused have confessed to the crime and have been sent to jail following court orders,” he said.

Police sources say that the girl’s father and brother had coaxed Vikas and called him near the LIC ground. Later, after murder, the body was thrown in a nearby drain. “The post-mortem examination revealed that Vikas was attacked on the head with an iron rod, resulting in a fracture in his skull,” the senior police officer said.
