Husband and wife arrested in the case of death of two people after drinking alcohol

Janjgir-Champa: Two people have died after drinking country liquor in village Amoda of the district. The names of the deceased are Lalita Suryavanshi (46) and Kiran Pradhan (33). The police conducted postmortem of both the bodies on Friday and handed them over to their families. The statements of the relatives have been recorded. The matter is of Navagarh police station area.

According to the information, Kiran Pradhan (33), a resident of Hanumanta village, had come to his in-laws village Amoda with his wife and 3 children on the festival of Rakshabandhan. Kiran’s brother-in-law Shivshankar told that his sister and brother-in-law had stayed at their house after Rakshabandhan to celebrate Bhojali festival. Meanwhile, on the night of 31st August, Kiran went to the house of neighboring woman Lalita Suryavanshi. Here both of them decided to drink alcohol. On this, the woman Lalita sent her nephew to bring liquor from the village itself. The nephew brought country liquor from a husband and wife named Rohit and Rukmini in the village itself, the lid of which was already open.

After this, both the men and women sat together and drank alcohol. After drinking alcohol, both of them fell on the ground. Seeing this, the relatives brought both of them to Janjgir district hospital for treatment, where the doctor declared them dead. After this, Navagarh police station was informed about the incident. ASP Anil Soni said that the cause of death would be revealed only after the postmortem report comes. He said that the videography of the postmortem of the bodies of both the deceased has been done. Police said that both the accused husband-wife Rohit and Rukmini are being interrogated in custody.
