Husband found alive a day after his wife was arrested for murder
Thiruvananthapuram (kerala): The Kerala Police arrested a 25-year-old woman for allegedly killing her husband. A day later, the woman’s husband was found working as a laborer about 130 km away.
Afsana and Naushad were living in Adoor with their two children. In December 2021, her relatives lodged a missing complaint when the woman said that her husband was missing for the last one month. The local police called Afsana for questioning last week after the woman claimed to have seen Naushad a few days ago. But on asking further, she told that she had killed and buried her husband. Police arrested the woman on Thursday.
The police excavated a few places, including her house where she claimed to have buried her husband’s body, but found nothing. While the police were trying to get more information from Afsana, news broke that Naushad was seen working as a laborer in Thodupuzha on Friday. Speaking to the media, Jamon, a police officer attached to Thodupuzha police station, said that this morning he received a call from his friend who runs a shop.
The police officer said that my friend said that he was reading news about Afsana and he recognized Naushad in the picture. Soon I reached the place where he was staying. The landlord said that he had gone to work nearby. I went there, talked to him and he agreed to come with me. On questioning, Naushad said that he decided to run away from Adoor after his wife Afsana and some others thrashed him. Naushad told that I was scared to be with him. I have been working here since November 2021. I don’t have a mobile phone and I don’t have any news about Afsana.
Meanwhile, as per police protocol, Naushad has undergone a medical checkup and the police of Koodal near Adoor will take him to Adoor where a missing person’s case has been registered. Afsana is still in police custody after her arrest on Thursday night.
