Husband kills wife for money in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district
Baripada: In a shocking incident, a husband killed his wife on Thursday for money in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha. The incident took place near Kadamdiha village of Brahmangaon panchayat under Bangiriposhi police station limits in the district.
The deceased has been identified as Kaushalya Dehuri (35) of Shalaghati village and the accused husband is Padan Dehuri (45).
As per reports, both husband and wife fetched wood from the forest and after selling it, both went to the nearby village Kadamdiha when a verbal spat erupted between them for a small amount of money.
The argument escalated and the husband repeatedly hit the wife with the axe for which she died on the spot only.
After the death of the woman, while the husband was sitting at the scene, the local villagers detained him and informed the police.
Soon Police reached the spot and initiated probe when the husband confessed the crime and surrendered himself.
Bangiriposhi police, Sadar SDPO and scientific team reached the spot and arrested the husband. Investigation of the case is underway.
