Husband ran with a knife to kill, wife saved her life by jumping into the pond
Serious fight between husband and wife took place in Kadamdodhi village (Mudatikhara) under police station Kapu area yesterday morning on 25th August. In this incident, Sanjay Lakra attacked his wife Mariam Lakra (28 years) with a vegetable cutting knife due to suspicion of her character. At the time of the incident, Mariam jumped into the pond to save herself, when the neighbours came, she came out and told about the incident. chhattisgarh news
chhattisgarh Mariam told that she slept with her husband and four children at night, at around 04.00 am, Sanjay Lakra attacked her stomach with a knife due to suspicion of her character. Mariam was taken to Kadamdodhi government hospital in critical condition, where after first aid, she was referred to Ambikapur government hospital, where Mariam’s treatment is going on. In police station Kapu, accused Sanjay Lakra of village Kadamdodhi (Mudatikhara) has been booked under crime number. Crime No. 104/2024 under Section 109 BNS was registered and Inspector-in-charge of Kapu police station Narayan Singh Markam took immediate action and arrested the accused Sanjay Lakra before he could escape.
The accused confessed his crime in front of witnesses, after which the police seized the knife used in the incident on his memorandum. Sanjay Lakra has been sent on judicial remand after getting sufficient evidence.
TI Narayan Singh said that under the guidance of SP Divyang Patel and Additional SP Akash Markam, SDOP Dharamjaigarh Siddhant Tiwari, immediate action has been taken by taking the accused into custody and taking all necessary legal steps, Ahita is admitted in Ambikapur Hospital where it has been reported that her health is improving, the accused has been sent on remand. In the investigation of the case, police station in-charge Narayan Singh Markam along with head constable Rajendra Beck, constable Dilip Tirkey and Philmon Lakra have played a special role.
