Hyderabad: Two junior doctors and a marijuana smuggler arrested
Hyderabad: Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TGANB) officials in collaboration with Sultan Bazaar police arrested a ganja smuggler and two junior doctors from whose possession ganja was recovered. Police seized a total of 10 pouches of ganja weighing 80 grams. The arrested person has been identified as Suresh Singh alias Tinku Singh (38), a resident of Dhulepet. He was earlier involved in five cases in Dhulepet, Mangalhat and Tappachabutra police stations. Suresh was nabbed when he was trying to sell the contraband substance to medical students at Koti. The consumers were junior doctors Dr K Manikandan and Dr V Arvind of Osmania Medical College. According to police, Suresh, who is an NDPS offender addicted to selling ganja since 2016, was nabbed when he came to Koti to sell ganja to medical students. The urine tests of both the doctors tested positive for ganja. Police said that around eight to ten medical students used to buy ganja from the accused. For the last two years, Suresh was buying ganja from Pankaj Singh of Jummarath market. So far four medical students have been identified and efforts are on to identify other medical students who are addicted to the drug.
