I criticize myself a lot: Suchitra Krishnamurthy

New Delhi (IANS). When Sunita Nagarajan, sister of singer and actress Suchitra Krishnamurthy, sang a raga composed by her during a family dinner, she thought of recording it as a single for herself.

Suchitra told IANS, “I had been looking for the right medium to embrace this mature style of music for some time, and this was perfect. ‘Shararat’ is ghazal pop – a fusion of ghazals, which has been the best for me till now. Unknown, and pop which has been my strength for years.”

All praise for Mayur Puri (‘Chutki Bhar Sindoor’, Om Shanti Om), who wrote the lyrics for the single, Suchitra Krishnamurthy recalls that the audience was stunned by the quality of the poetry.

The singer, who returned to the music industry after five years, whose first album ‘Dole Dole’ was released in 1995, admits that she needs to work more in music.

The singer of the album ‘Dum Tara’ said, “I hope to come out with more music this year. I am very laid-back and I love creative work.”

Actress, model, writer and singer Suchitra Krishnamurthy has been seen in around 15 Hindi and South Indian films. She emphasizes that her main ability is music.

She says with a smile, “Everyone remembers me as this since childhood – a singer who was always singing on stage. Modeling and acting came automatically given the way I looked. I think I was a good-looking girl, so I kept getting offers and I started enjoying facing the camera. I started getting compliments too.”

Suchitra, who was recently seen in the films ‘Odd Couple’ and ‘Guilty Minds’ on various digital platforms, feels that OTT has completely changed the game with more stories, opportunities and variety.

She has been in the news for her comments on the casting couch, which she feels still exists to a large extent for starters.

He said, “It all depends on the individuals involved. Casting couch exists in all industries – even in the corporate world. It is also a power game. I must add that things are definitely more professional now.” Are – more organized, more regulated.”

She says, “No one needs to submit to the casting couch unless they’re doing it for their own benefit. No one can force anyone to do anything — past Unlike when everything used to happen under the carpet and quietly – in today’s world one can secretly record an incident and tweet etc to expose the culprit.”

She feels, “The fear of embarrassment and stigma keeps the unscrupulous in control to a great extent. It is a safe world today.”

Artist Suchitra has recently lost her mother and now wants to stay out of the city for a few weeks, and isolate herself from the world. She said, “Take a look, and I will return healthy and refreshed.”
