I want to contest the Annamalai elections – Vanathi Srinivasan

Tamil Nadu: MLA and leader of the party’s national women’s wing, Vanathi Srinivasan, urged former Tamil Nadu BJP leader Annamalai to contest the Legislative Assembly elections.

She told reporters in Chennai on Thursday: “When contesting elections through an alliance, there can be some advantages and disadvantages of getting opposing seats. Only after overcoming these can an alliance be formed. The next phase of work, including candidate selection, has begun with a plan to win all the seats the BJP has won.”

I don’t know if Annamalai has written a letter to the party leadership stating that he is not contesting. But I wish Annamalai contested. Annamalai should run for the Legislative Assembly.

Thousands of volunteers spent money and time working on the party, Makkal Needhi Maiam, believing that Kamal Haasan started it. But he became the sole MP, abandoning those who trusted him and worked for the party, she said.
